10th ANNUAL BORGATA POKER OPEN GUARANTEES $3 MILLION CHAMPIONSHIP EVENT-SEPT 16-21
Featuring $1 Million Opening Event and Televised WPT® Borgata Poker Open Championship
ATLANTIC CITY, NJ (July 23, 2012) – Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa announced details of its tenth annual Borgata Poker Open tournament series, beginning with a $1 Million Guaranteed opening Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em event on Wednesday, September 5, and concluding with the televised World Poker Tour ® (WPT) Borgata Poker Open Championship scheduled for September 16–21. The $3,500 buy-in Championship No Limit Hold’em event features a guaranteed $3 million prize pool.
The Borgata Poker Open Championship event set a record with 1,042 entries in 2010, and in 2011 Borgata raised the bar with another record 1,313 entries – both ranking as the largest fields in the history of the World Poker Tour. Past champions include Bobby Oboodi (2011), Dwyte Pilgrim (2010), Olivier Busquet (2009), Vivek Rajkumar (2008), Roy Winston (2007), Mark Newhouse (2006), Al Ardebili (2005), Daniel Negreanu (2004) and Noli Francisco (2003).

This year’s 17-day series features Deep Stacks, Six-Max, Bounty, Heads Up, Seniors (50+) and Ladies No Limit Hold’em events, along with Seven Card Stud, Pot Limit Omaha, Omaha, HORSE and Limit Hold’em events. The featured WPT Borgata Poker Open Championship event is part of the WPT Season XI and will be filmed from Day 1 through the final table and televised on Fox Sports Net.
Online reservations for all Borgata Poker Open main events begins Monday, July 30, and will be available 24 hours a day through August 31, by visiting www.theborgata.com. On-site registration for all Borgata Poker Open events begins Tuesday, September 4.
