CHAMP'S NEPHEW DEMETRIUS HOPKINS TO HEADLINE AUGUST 4TH FIGHT CARD AT BORGATA TO BE TELEVISED ON HBO LATINO
ATLANTIC CITY (June 3) - Undisputed middleweight champion Bernard Hopkins, President of Golden Boy Promotions East, is pleased to announce the first official show of the east coast division of Golden Boy Promotion and the start of a multi-event alliance with Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
Hopkins took time out of training for his July 16th fight with undefeated middleweight contender Jermain Taylor to make the announcement and express his eagerness to activate the company. "I am extremely excited to introduce Golden Boy East and put on our first show," said Hopkins. "We are committed to delivering quality fights in an upscale atmosphere to the Borgata and all boxing fans with established fighters as well as rising prospects. Golden Boy East will be the Gold Standard when it comes to action, excitement and entertainment in the ring!
The fight card is scheduled for August 4th, and will feature Hopkins' nephew, undefeated welterweight Demetrius Hopkins, in the evening's main event. The fight will take place at Borgata, the preeminent casino on the east coast, and shown live on HBO Latino. This will mark the first boxing event at Borgata and the beginning of a series of events that will take place at the casino as part of the new relationship between the two companies.
