Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa Accepts First Esports Wager in New Jersey

Atlantic City, NJ (November 7, 2019) – Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa today announced that it accepted the first legal esports wager in the state of New Jersey at 3:18 p.m. on Thursday, November 7, after opening odds on the League of Legends World Championship happening in Paris, France on Sunday, November 10. American sports personality Howard Eskin (Philadelphia’s 94.1 WIP-FM and FOX 29) wagered $100 on Team G2 (-140) to win the League of Legends World Championship.


Guests may now place their esports wagers at Borgata’s Moneyline Bar & Book and via the mobile sports-betting app, Moneyline will stream the Championship event beginning at 7 a.m. on Sunday for guests 21 and older.

The League of Legends World Championship is the annual professional League of Legends tournament hosted by Riot Games representing the culmination of each season. Teams compete for the champion title, the 70-pound Summoner’s Cup, and a US $1 million championship prize. Available bets include pre-match overall winner, adjusted overall winner (in between rounds), and individual round winners.
