Atlantic City, NJ (March 10, 2020) – The St. Baldrick’s Foundation, the largest private funder of children's cancer research, will return to Atlantic City to host one of its signature head-shaving events at Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa on Friday, March 13th where team members, guests, and friends will shave their heads to raise money for lifesaving childhood cancer research.
Every 2 minutes somewhere in the world a child is diagnosed with cancer. Worldwide, over 300,000 children are diagnosed with cancer each year. And in the U.S., more children die of childhood cancer than any other disease—more than AIDS, asthma, cystic fibrosis, congenital anomalies and diabetes combined. Two-thirds of children treated for childhood cancer will suffer long-term effects from treatment including loss of hearing and sight, heart disease, secondary cancers, learning disabilities, infertility and more. The St. Baldrick’s Foundation exists to change these realities. By working closely with leading pediatric oncologists, they determine the most promising research to fund and create funding priorities to make the greatest impact for children with cancer.
Borgata’s third annual event will be held from 11am to 6pm on Friday, March 13th in The Barbershop at Spa Toccare. Friends, family and significant others of shavees are encouraged to donate, participate and attend; enjoying the spa’s facilities as well as complimentary lite bite and beverage provided by Borgata’s culinary team.
More information about the event – including how to volunteer or donate – is available here.
Media coverage is invited to cover and / or participate. Interested outlets must RSVP to Brian Brennan (firstname.lastname@example.org).
